Great to see our former graphic design placement student Susie again! She called into the office to show off some of her award-winning, final year university work.

Strive Together
Susie created a brand identity and campaign during her final year at the Ulster University, Belfast. This project is aimed at teenage girls to encourage them to take up a sport to counteract the individualistic culture of today’s society. The project helped to encourage girls to become part of a team and join this community. Play rugby. Play in life. Together.

LOST
Here is an award-winning project inspired by the title ‘Lost’. Susie created a celebratory book on seven lost languages and methods of communication. Ranging from Biblical Hebrew to Morse code in a Chronological timeline. This interactive publication uses tracing paper and illustration design to connect type, colour and image. An exciting project and one Susie is rightly proud of!

Let Your Light Shine Bright
This is Susie’s latest project – a children’s book called ‘Let your Light shine Bright’ which she both wrote and illustrated beautifully with graphic and illustration design.
It conveys a message about having a growth mindset and about being positive when life is hard. Susie had so much fun storyboarding this narrative and borrowing about three dozen books for inspiration from a local primary school. She wasn’t sure if she could come up with a story but only through the rough times in life, you learn little things to help yourself be strong.
It was the illustrations Susie completed with the Don’t Mow Let It Grow project that helped her decide how to approach this project.

Well done Susie and good luck with the new job in graphic design! You can keep up to date with Susie on Instagram.
